I wasn't going to ever make a project progression thread, but since I'll be doing a lot of work before automotion I figured why not? I just need to find a decent heater for my garage. 5/12/08 - Sunscreen! - PICS - - Synopsis: Tint is done. She is washed. She is waiting. 5/5/08 - Torque Wrenches 'R' Great! - - - Synopsis: Torque converter was loose. No more nasty engine bay noises :). 3/19/08 - Rocking Chairs Suck! - PICS - - Synopsis: Old motor mounts had to go, engine rocked more than all of the elderly folks at the nursing home I work at. Now installed is an aftermarket dogbone and a poly filled upper mount. 2/27/08 - Still Garaged, Yet Sneaky! - PICS - - Synopsis: Half window love. Teaser. See Pictures. 12/1/07 - Garaged! - PICS - - Synopsis: I brought Betty home last night, with Sadie as my wingma-- wingwoman. It brought back memories of when I was keeping an eye on Eric when we got the Indy from Missouri. Warmed her up, grabbed some gas, and got stuck waiting for a green light that was our only exit from the BP station. We finally get out of there and on to the I39, when the guy we were following carelessly throws his damn cigarette out the window. This happens just about every time I drive Betty. Apparently the cigarette whooshes past my car and ends up scattering ashes/embers all over Xena's (Sadie's car) windshield. I honked my horn at the guy, but didn't bother fighting back (I want to keep a pack of smokes on hand to light and whip at the bastards that do it to me, yet I don't want to start a fire, so I don't). End that ordeal. Anyhow, the plastic on the windows wasn't held on too well, so I got off I39 at the first exit I after entering it, so I could rip that junk off. The rear plastic was still on well, so I kept it. Thirty freezing minutes later, I met the Astro van. This guy creeps by me and then, for some reason, decides to pull in front of me as close as he possibly can. This threw off the air flow around my car, and the rear "window" blew in and started flapping in the wind. So I promptly ripped that out. That made for an even colder drive, but we made it. No snow and Betty got backed up nice and snug into the garage ^_^. And according to Sadie, Betty's exhaust sounds great upon acceleration. Wait 'til I put the CAI back on, mmmmmm. |

Updated! Weird engine noise is gone it seems, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet. I hear it faintly, but it might be my imagination after hearing it so long. |

Still have the noise, it's not consistent and it's not as loud. I don't notice it much after the car warms up but it's there some of the time, and when I put it into gear and sit in place its nothing like it was before. I'll check some of the TC bolts later tonight when I get back from Janesville. I am one window away from them being replaced. I'm waiting for word back from a fellow Beretta owner in the Eau Claire area. |

Considering its not a constant sound, I'm hoping it has something to to with another aspect of the engine. the noise occurs upon fire of the spark plug it seems. Maybe my plugs are muggled up or something. I dunno what sort of symptoms that would cause (looking it up now). |

I heard the noise and we will have to look into it futher, its definetly not a rod noise though, may be a lifter or valve but could be something alot simplier. come on mark "Cayenne" is dying to meet her new friend betty who helped get her back on the road again. We need pics of betty and cayenne together and when the snow goes away and betty is out we will get the Indy included also. Just set the new fenders into place and the hood

Don't lose hope baby! I keep telling my dad about it but he doesn't have many thoughts. His only suggestion was to take a long screwdriver and put the metal end on different parts of the engine, put your ear on the handle, and try to locate the area it's coming from. You probably knew that already but I figured I'd put his $.02 in. |

Keep your hopes up mark we will make sure to have betty up and going before automotion. If we have to I will get ahold of scott, load up tools, a fly wheel and torque convertor just incase and go down to fix betty. Cayenne needs updated pictures of her and betty deserves to be in them
