Well, I decided to dump my 2nd gen 3.1 liter motor and rebuild a 3rd gen 3.1 aka 3100. I will post updates as I can. I can't wait to start! |

Excellent! gen3s are really good. just a couple details you need to be aware of to make them really good. what year 3100 is it? |

I going with a 2000 or newer. I was told that these years are the best. I was also told to use knock sensor from my current 3.1 (2nd Gen) There a few guys on 60degreev6.com and v6z24.com that have been extrememly helpful. |

ya, 2000+ 3100s are (mostly) like 3400s. the top end has the bigger manifolds if running OBD1, yes you have to use your 3.1 knock sensor |
